Happy Birthday Grandpa!

Today would have been my grandpa's 81st birthday. I'm so happy he's in a better place but boy do I miss him. No worries though Grandpa, Granny is spending your money and enjoying it, just like you would have wanted her to!

Balloon Fest 2009

Today we went to the Plano Balloon Festival and met up with others who have had babies within a few weeks of Astoria. It was a beautiful day (just a tad humid) to be outside watching balloons. We even discovered today that Megan (Madi's mom) and I were in the same hospital delivering a day apart by the same doctor. Small world it is around here. I can't wait to get together again!

Cats and Ducks

What do they have in common? ASTORIA! Okay, anyway. We're going to be a cat for Halloween, a scrawny cat but a cute one none-the-less. I got out the duck bathtub tonight after I saw Megan, Madison's mom, have hers out (ours isn't the cute pink one like Maddy's but it does quack). She liked sitting in it while it wasn't in the tub, better than in the tub. I think because she kept sliding down the side of it when it was wet. So maybe we'll just use it dry for awhile.

Our really cute outfit..pants are a little short but we're still stylin'.

The picture on the bottom is Olivia, my niece. She's now 16 months but this was her at 5 months (Astoria's age now, we'll be 6 months almost 7 when Halloween gets here). Guess you could say we'll have a scrawny cat and had a plump cat. Haha kind of like Lilly and Isabelle are here in our house :)

Retiring the Onezie

Memorial Day 2009

Labor Day 2009

How much we have grown! Astoria turned 5 months old this weekend and even though it's a newborn onezie we can still fit in it. This will be the last holiday we can wear it however as we've almost outgrown it's length. This weekend was a good one, Nana and Pops came for a visit. Astoria had no problem going to Nana and loved to look at Pops (getting close to him was a different story). They were both amazed how much she has grown and developed a personality all her own. She 'talked' up a storm all weekend and had good nights (aka we slept all the way through). I'm thinking she's around 13lbs now. She's started eating a bowl of oatmeal mixed with either applesauce, sweet potatoes, or avocados before bed each night. Bedtime has changed to around 7:30pm and she's been getting up around 6:15am. She's still drooling up a storm but there aren't any signs of teeth just yet. She also loves to roll over and over and over. Funny thing is, she only rolls one way which turns out to be pretty unfortunate because she often finds herself up against a wall and can't go the other way to free herself. She's become a wonderful baby who loves to smile at any stranger (just like her daddy) and loves being outside (just like her momma). We are (knock on wood) officially past the colicky stage of babyhood!!
