Another Happy Morning!

Another good morning. She's starting to chatter a lot when she's happy. Even in the carseat today when I got my car inspected she sat there and chatted with me. Progress!

A Good Day With My Big Girl

Today was a good day. We took lots of pictures and even took a stroll down the street in the stroller. Here are some of the pictures of our great day! Only three more days before I go back to work. I'll miss this little face!
This morning about 7am.This evening beinga big girl in the recliner. Look how big I am.
Rock Star pose!
Well I look bigger in the close up (don't mind mom's mess)!

Memorial Day

Our Memorial Day celebration included going to Rex's sister's house for a good ol' fashion cookout. Astoria did very well (of course until pictures were taken). We're so proud we can live freely because of those who serve(d) our country.

The outfit Family Picture

Grandpa's first time to hold her since the hospital.

Aunt Paula
She wasn't real excited about pictures. Her shirt says Born in 2009.

Much better, lol.

Bath Time!

Nap time

We love bath time!

Astoria has grown so much in just the past week (I think). This morning I got my first smile. I know, I know it could be gas but I'm thinking not. I got three of them at different times when I was talking to her on the changing table. Then tonight during bath time I think there was a hint of another one. Perhaps even a dimple. See for yourself:
Tomorrow is our fist day of physical therapy. Wish us luck and prayers!

Torticollis

Well we went to the ear, nose and throat doctor today and found out Astoria doesn't have a cyst on her neck but something called Torticollis. I found a website which describes it pretty well http://www.orthoseek.com/articles/congenmt.html So today she was poked and prodded on A Lot! After the ENT Doctor we had to have an ultrasound done on her neck. She hated this even more. Overall she did very well. The doctor will look at the ultrasound and then schedule us for physical therapy in the next couple of days. So now not only will I have a colicky baby but also a baby that I'll be doing therapy on. Oh the joys of motherhood. However, the results of not doing the PT is worse than enduring her screaming so I'm willing. I'm just happy to know she's not in any pain with this.

5 Weeks Already!

The Best Sleep Is Always At Nana's
It's hard to believe 5 weeks have already passed. It's been busy that's for sure. We went up to Oklahoma to spend a couple of weeks and had a wonderful time. It was good to see Granny and have her meet Astoria for the first time.

We celebrated Olivia's 1st birthday (really hard to believe) in an exquisite fashion. With over 50 people in attendance it's great to see how much support Meredith has in raising her beautiful daughter. Olivia is crazy but one of the happiest babies I've ever seen. She loves Astoria and is always trying to give her kisses. For her birthday Olivia got a pink car to ride in and Meredith figured Astoria would like to ride with her (in the storage compartment of course). I think Astoria had another opinion.

It was very difficult to leave my family. Rex met us halfway on Sunday (my first Mother's Day) in Ardmore. I have a feeling it will always be hard to leave knowing my family will miss her getting bigger. Rex did a wonderful job for a first Mother's Day. I had a dozen roses waiting and some coupons for a free night out, dinner, babysitting and other wonderful things.

We went in for a check up today and she's weighing in at 7lbs 12ozs so we are growing bigger every day! We've outgrown the preemie clothes and fit into some of the newborn clothes however most are still to wide. We are still battling the reflux and lots of crying in the evening. It's been very trying.

Unfortunately today the doctor diagnosed Astoria as having a bronchial cyst on her neck. He said it doesn't seem to be hurting her and likely it's just a cosmetic issue that will be removed when she gets older. However he's referring us to an ear, nose, and throat doctor. We have our appointment on Wednesday. Keep us in your prayers as we find out the diagnosis.
