Picture Heavy from the Past Week!

It's YOUR day my little one! You are the light of my eyes and the beat of my heart. You make my world a better place and give me a reason to smile every day. I cannot believe you are turning 1. The year has gone by so fast as I knew it would. No longer do you allow me to hold you for hours on end, you are too busy moving and grooving. You now want to feed yourself and hate taking time out for a diaper change. You were small at birth, 6lbs 10oz, and you are still small at one year, 18lbs, but you have the appetite of grown man, it's amazing. I have yet to find a food you do not like, perhaps you'll be like me and love all kinds of foods when you grow up. You are very much a thinker, like me, it's not very often you make a rash decision, you ponder things before you make a move. Your father and I are very proud parents. You have family and friends that love you just as much as we do. It has been amazing to watch you grow this past year and I cannot wait to see what the next year holds for all of us! WE love you Astoria!
Here are some pictures from her first birthday:

How do you know when Astoria is done taking pictures? No worries, she'll let you know!

March Randomness

Its been a busy month already. Time has flown! Astoria turned 11 months in March and she's coming into her own ways of doing things. We have finally mastered sippy cups with a straw and Rex and I are already dreading the change over to milk..no more bottles for this little girl. Amazingly enough she also mastered holding her own bottle but only if she's laying down. She doesn't understand she has to tilt her head back to drink, hence why we went with the straw sippies.

Anyway, here are some pictures of the month so far (with the most recent first).

Dress I made that turned out a little too short in length and a little too big in the neckline..she's just so stinkin' tiny.
Yeah she doesn't really like mornings either.

Madi stopped by for a visit!

How mommy gets things done, lots of puffs, sippy cups, and if that doesn't' work lay her down on the floor and hand her a bottle.

Waiting for a bath in my very cute cloth diaper :)

I think this is actually the first picture I have of her holding her own bottle, mind you she turned 11 months the day it was taken. Little stinker.

And this is why I have a feeling she's been playing us for fools, really, holding your toes and your bottle at the same time on the first time..I don't think so!
Next week is SPRING BREAK and I can't wait we're headed to Oklahoma to see the family..our first plane ride! I'll be sure to update that experience!

Busy, Busy Saturday!

Today we went to Kaylee's 1st birthday and then to see Nathanial. Even without a nap Astoria had fantastic all day. Maybe it's because she knew just how cute she looked :)

Hi mom! What a cool vest you made me!

Look at that smile! I think Lilly got confused for a moment....Astoria loved it!

Looking tired.
Madi and Astoria

Madi, Astoria, and Kaylee, BFF's!

My little cutie!

Hey friend!

Astoria kept taking Nathanial's toys from him..he wasn't too happy about it!

Their kids will be tiny! Both of them are in the 10th percentile but what cuties!

Valentine's Day 2010

Valentine's Day was a lot of fun this year. It was made a lot more fun by people I've never met. Amy and I both participated in a Valentine Swap hosted by Katie . Amy, seeing how I love to cook (or at least attempt) sent a lot of great things for Astoria and I to make cookies with for Valentine's Day.

So first we must make some room by loading the dishwasher. Well, I loaded she then crawled on top of the lid while I was turned around doing something else. Don't you just love how she cheeses. Nope, I don't know where her other sock is.

These are all of the things Amy sent for our adventure.

Next we cut the hearts out of the dough.

Amy, Astoria loved the card so much she crawled around with it for a long time. That is until she saw the cookies :)

After cooking we decorated them!
Amy also sent us a gigantic sucker. Being Astoria's first sucker she wasn't quite sure what to do. Once I showed her...
She had no trouble finding her mouth!
Next was a cookie, her very first cookie and icing. She again wasn't too sure about it at first. She was polite and ladylike for a moment....
Once I got the bib on her..well it was over from there.
Yep, I think we'll be able to handle that smash cake just fine in April!
Thank you Amy! It was a great day in part because of the wonderful gift you sent!

Snow!

Although we have seen snow this season here in Texas and we saw the aftermath of the blizzard in Oklahoma, today is the first day we've really SEEN snow here in Dallas all season. Astoria wasn't real sure what to do. This morning she blinked a lot. Not sure if she thought it was falling fuzz or just couldn't believe her eyes. Tonight when we all got home we went out and took pictures of the craziness. I'm guessing we have at least 5 inches on the ground and are scheduled to receive 7-9 inches. What fun!

Yes, her eyelashes are so long a snowflake easily kissed her.
